About Me

My name is Diane Carlson and I have a lifelong passion for fiber. I am very fortunate that I have found a way to follow this passion with a business. Fifteen years ago I started designing, hand-knitting and selling sweaters at craft fairs around the Northeast. Twelve years ago I took up spinning and dyeing wool/yarn. Ten years ago I started working as marketing rep in the yarn industry. This part of my job entails travelling to yarn shops throughout New England and selling then yarn, patterns and other accessories that their customers will need for their own fiber creations. As you can see, this passion has a life of its own.

My wasband came up with the business name about twenty years ago. We were walking by an empty storefront in Rockport, MA when he turned to me and said, "That is where Di's Delectables should go!" Well, I don't have a storefront, but I have this site and my on-line etsy store instead. I don't have to sweep this kind of store as often.

I first became acquainted with Great Adirondack Yarns while I was still selling at craft fairs. We would often show at the same events. Very quickly, every sweater of mine had some yarn of theirs. Today I rep for Great Adirondack as well as design for them. I hope that you will enjoy these yarns as much as I do.

Nowadays, I spin yarn on the weekends when not travelling as a marketing rep. I also do website design for companies both in and outside the yarn industry.
