Great Adirondack Yarns | Di's Hand Spun Yarns |Buttons About Me My name is Diane Carlson and I have a lifelong passion for fiber. I am very fortunate that I have found a way to indulge in this passion with a business. Over the last 10 years I have been designing, hand-knitting and selling sweaters at craft fairs around throughout the Northeast. During the past couple of years I have also taken up spinning. This past month I dyed my first batch of yarn using Natural Dyes. As you can see, this passion has a life of its own. Also this past fall I fell sway to the craft of working with polymer clay. I make all of the buttons offered on this site and am always adding more designs. My husband is the one who came up with the business name. We were walking by an empty storefront in Rockport, MA when he turned to me and said, "That is where Di's Delectables should go!" Well, I don't have a storefront, but I have this on-line store instead. I don't have to sweep this kind of store as often. While at these fairs I first became acquainted with Great Adirondack Yarns and Ellyn Cooper's Yarn Sonnets. Very quickly, every sweater of mine had some yarn of theirs. This past October, the three of us sat down and talked, during a very slow craft show, about setting up a web site where everyone could see all of our products. Thus, the idea for this site was born. I hope that you will enjoy these yarns as much as I do. These two lines are constantly changing and they are always coming up with new and different colorways. I hope that you enjoy this site. Please let me know if there is any way that this site can be enhanced to improve your experience with it. Happy knitting & spinning!! Diane Carlson |
